More storage. Chrissakes. We have three chapters and at a minimum double the number of character slots if we have all 3 linked. At least add an extra row in Xunlai per chapter that we've bought. Please??

Save for the ingame comms (which will really add lag), I like sakura's ideas. Well, I don't care about the linux suggestion but then again I use windows.

WasAGuest, I totally agree about the armor in nightfall. Factions had some good armor options and then Anet dropped the ball this time around.

One thing I'd like to see is more varied looks. Only necros and some el's can have blue hair. In nightfall you have 16 choices of hair color for everyone but in the past two, you were usually more limited by colors. Likewise I'd like to see hairstyles and options a little less campaign based.

*Winterclaw wants to make a tyrian warrior with blue eyes and a canthan pigtail hairstyle but he can't.

I'd like to see a three-way large-scale war with next release, with battles more resembling Aspenwood type, i.e., with one side attacking and the other side defending. A three-way war is better than Kurzick/Luxon's two-way one, because equilibrium is harder to maintain and there'll be more dynamic shifting back and forth.

Size of aggro ring based on size of party and sneakyness of lead character (i.e. Assassin or Ranger = sneakier).

More generally, I'd like to be able explore and avoid confrontation more. Too quickly, current chapters descend into linear, arcade slug-fests, without enough room for the kind of roaming/skulking around, that I like to do.

Oh and critters that look the same, shouldn't suddenly change from dying on one swish of the blade, to taking a concerted 4-man effort to bring down, just because their "lvl" is higher. It makes sense when we're talking warriors that may have had more training, but plants?

Also, I'd like optional "linked" character advancement - missions completed by one character, completed by all (possibly primary only). Or significant places like "Lions Arch" becoming an optional start position for new characters, once you've reached them with the first. Basically, anything to help get "second run" characters past the early stuff.

I want to see a spear that looks like a lightning bolt, because that would just be spiffy.

Character Skin customization..So that you can share in the glory of newer skins without having to redo your 500 + hours on a particular character. Seriously needs to be implemented..I really like some of the newer skins and hair styles of some races and now I want them but I would never sacrifice the amount of time and effort i put into my character for them so Im stuck with old skins..

3) More heroes
4) Auction House
5) NPC merchants for every item and skin in the game to stop the 100k + ecto market. Sorry, but that's dumb and no item or skin in the game is worth that. It also pulls the game away from the casual player... no argument can change my mind on this... don't bother trying. /guilty of being able to afford 100k + ecto, but smart enough to not feed that market.
6) Seperate AI for creature and human/humanoid mobs. The are different, they should act completely different. New AI is a step in the right direction, keep going Anet! /cheer
7) Challenge Missions rewards comparable to the typical farming run. Let's see these Challenge Missions replace the need to farm. Let's have a need and desire to group with other players in these missions with great payout and unique earnable gear from them. (See my token reward idea posted somewhere in this forum).
8) More puzzles and traps.
9) More choices of armor per chapter. NF is kinda skimpy on the armor selection... my only negative (besides the bugs I keep stumbling upon) of NF thus far is the armor.
10) No Factions like expansions... ever... ugh.
11) Removal of all locked gates; they destroy immersion. I went hours of exploring and enjoying myself in NF this weekend. Loving every minute... then I came across my first locked gate and moaned... my first thought "Idiots learned nothing from the mistakes in Factions?"... Now I'm not so harsh on it being there, but it did kill the enjoyment I was having and I lost the immersion of the game world. - if they are needed to stop running, the ranking system works ideal for that. Can't buy X or do Mission X without X rank... but we should still be able to explore and check out the really cool looking game world.

My hero.

Second post, sorry.

I pretty much agree with what everyone is asking for in this thread.
Everybody is pretty much thinking along the same lines.

The only thing I'm REALLY tired of (that's a lie ... *prepares rant*); are locked gates which impede upon my glorious adventuring, storage that isn't considered storage because it's so damn small, having to LOG OUT entirely to change characters, and having to deal with the same character name/appearance throughout all the chapters. I know it's not realistic to change a specific characters physical appearance so randomly, but honestly, there are some nice new additions out for character appearance, and to use them I have to completely REMAKE a character, taking up space that could be used for another character.

True, it's my choice to remake that character, but it would be beneficial if we could simply change their appearance.

Even a gender modifier. That may seem lame, but if I have one warrior who's male, why should I have to remake another warrior if I want it to be female? Why not simply change the gender and have all armor adapt with that change of gender. It would save having to buy the same sets of armor for the same class on two different characters, when you could simply switch over to enjoy one or the other.

Also. What's with releasing 1139471032947 skills, and only having ... maybe, 20 for each profession actually WORTH something? Either make all skills useful so that a hundred thousand players aren't using the same builds. It's called variety. Either that or just LEAVE all the important skills, and take out all the pointless ones. It'd be hard to judge which players use what. But something needs to be done because I'm getting annoyed with wanting to buy skills and never seeing any that would be beneficial. Even the elites. Some of the elite skills out there are so pointless, and yet they are classified as 'elite', but why? If they don't do anything beneficial for your gameplay what is the point of even having the skill?

Oh, and did I mention locked gates? Yeah. Those have got to go.
I mean sure, Nightfall is an incredible improvement upon Factions, but I would have thought that they would have learned better from one of their biggest mistakes. But no, there are still locked gates, albeit not as many, and easily accessable after only a short time, but still. If I spend 3 hours journeying and happen upon a new city, that could give me a travel point on my map so that I don't have to walk ALL that way YET AGAIN when I can finally access the city. It's lame, and a waste of time.

It makes more sense (as someone said) if you have; City X or Mission X is only accessable after Rank X is achieved. Something as such. Even that would entail locked gates, but if you can gain the required rank, simply by adventuring for those 3 hours, then when you finally reach the city you're already prepared to enter and have no need to Zone back at the beginning and do it all again.

Aside from that.
Adding Jewels as a material for armor crafting was a really, REALLY, bad idea.
For one thing, there are no such details resembling jewels on any of the armors, well, maybe one or two sets, but from what I've seen, they are simply a waste of money.
I mean seriously.
In a year and a half of playing Guild Wars, I have yet to find ONE Ruby or Sapphire, let alone a DIAMOND. And yet these materials are required in some abundance (nothing vast by any means, but still a sufficient consumption of funds). Sure, maybe they drop more in other places, and maybe there are rare crafting materials that you can Expert Salvage them from, but in all honesty, after trying to find them for months, simply to sell and make money, and having not found ONE? Coome onnn.
It's bad enough that people have to spend hours upon hours farming FoW and UW for ectoplasms simply to get FoW armor. And for what? A set of armor that looks mildly better than other armors, and yet, in reality, offers no beneficial upgrades of any kind.
If you're going to charge 100+k for armor (after buying all said materials or so), then at least give some sort of bonus reward with the armor, or make it more beneficial for your character, like higher AL, or negates the effects of certain types of elemental damage. Something useful besides; "Hey, my character looks like a game of Tetris gone wrong! I feel so proud that I just spent all my funds on this useless, but haggardly beautiful set of armor. CHEERS."

I mean sure, some FoW armors are nice. But is the appearance really worth THAT much?

On top of that, you lower the price of the armor to 5k giving people the false hope that the armor is going to be cheaper, and then when they go to craft, realise they need to spend 50+k on JEWELS, on top of 25k for the armor itself, +any remaining materials.
Why?
What is the point in requiring Jewels to craft armor? Just like there is no point in requiring globs of ectoplasm or obsidian shards for FoW armor.
Why not leave the armor at 15k, and either substitute the ecto/shards for the general materials themselves, or just take them out all together.
I respected this in the past when it was a proud achievement for players to get FoW, but people are buying FoW sets for all their characters now. There is no task in buying it, so it's just a waste of time and money to find all the required materials. You can argue that point all you want, but I'm not going to alter my opinion. Whether people think that FoW NEEDS ecto/shards for crafting or not, I still think it's ridiculous. There's just no point to having materials that cost 5k for ONE. Just leave it at the general materials and call it a day.

/End.

1, giving useless items a use isn't a bad idea, and items like rubies, sapphires, and ectoplasm/shards are needed so that there are items of value in the economy. (also you never found a diamond because they weren't in the game until Nightfall came out )

2, the armor doesn't give any statistical benefit so that it is ONLY looks and nothing more that you get for the work you put in to obtaining those materials for those armors. I know players who've logged a few thousand hours and still wear 1.5k armor because the stats are what they want on their armor.

HAHA, really? I thought diamonds have been around since Prophecies.
Well that explains a lot.
Except not finding any Rubies or Sapphires ... sigh.
And true, but I still think the work needed to obtain armor simply for its appearance is a little much. I say this and I still save for 15k armor (Primevil armor for warriors, hehe), but still, so much work is needed for a simple appearance.
15k isn't bad with just materials but I mean, 15k + ectos + shards + materials is such an excessive amount of materials/funds needed for something that's .. frankly not that attractive on most characters. Save for maybe Elementalist and Mesmer females.
Alas ... there is nothing I can do.
But it would be nice.

Better pet control.
Hellen Keler would be able to take down a monk faster than one of those amazingly low AI pets.

I know that there are a lot of people that really don't want any more professions, but I would really like a wildshape shapeshifter (and possibly some other profession with a rapier with friends-in-combat).
